This research aimed to identify the training needs of Arabic language teachers in light of the professional standards of the Education and Training Evaluation Commission in the specialization and teaching methods. To achieve this, the researcher used the descriptive approach, and designed a questionnaire. After verifying the validity and reliability of the tool, it was distributed to the study sample which consisted of (81) Arabic teachers in the General Education Office in Asir. After the analysis of data, the study results revealed that: 1) the need for training programs by Arabic teachers in light of the professional standards of the Education and Training Evaluation Commission was high, 2) and that there were no statistically significant differences between the mean scores of their responses regarding their training needs due to the variables of gender, qualification and experience. In light of the findings, the study recommended that: 1) in-service training programs for Arabic teachers should take into account the professional standards of the Education and Training Evaluation Commission. 2) Teachers’ views on training needs should also be taken into account to increase their motivation for joining the training programs regularly.
