The study aims at identifying the effectiveness of a unit developed according to the (SWOM) strategy in developing the skills of mathematical prowess and critical thinking among the sixth-graders in Palestine. The study adopted the experimental and quasi-experimental approaches. The tools used were the tests of mathematical prowess skills and critical thinking in the developed geometry and measurement unit. The sample (n=47) was divided into two groups: the first is experimental 24 students and the other is control 23 students. The data were collected and statistically analyzed. Findings indicated that the unit developed according to the (SWOM) strategy has a large impact on the female students of the experimental group in both the skills of mathematical prowess and critical thinking, and that there is a positive and strong correlation between the results of the experimental group female students in each of mathematical prowess and critical thinking.
