The study aims to identify the role of the Islamic education teacher in developing the elements of Islamic identity among students in light of the skills of the twenty-first century in the State of Kuwait. The descriptive approach was used, and the two researchers prepared a 27-item questionnaire; covering four components of Islamic identity (Islamic faith, Arabic language, common history, Islamic heritage) was applied to a random sample (n=727) of Islamic education teachers. The study results showed that the role of Islamic education teachers in developing the components of Islamic identity was generally high. It was found that there were no statistically significant differences in the role of the Islamic education teacher in developing the components of Islamic identity, attributed to the variables of work experience, and job title. Recommendations are cited as of providing the appropriate educational environment and activating the functional role that help Islamic education teachers to develop the components of Islamic identity in light of the skills of the twenty-first century.
