The study aimed to identify the role of academic leaders at Al-Baha University in enhancing the efficiency of scientific research in the light of the strategic planning approach. The descriptive survey approach was used. The study sample consisted of (297) faculty members at Al-Baha University. The questionnaire was used as a tool for collecting study data, it has (35) paragraphs distributed over 6 areas, namely (the field of funding scientific research, the administrative field, the technical field, the field of training and professional development, facilitating arbitration and publishing procedures, strengthening the roles of scientific research), in addition to an open question about the most important obstacles facing faculty members at the University of Al-Baha in the field of publishing scientific research from their point of view. The results of the study showed that the role of academic leaders at Al-Baha University in enhancing the efficiency of scientific research in the light of the strategic planning approach came in a medium degree with an arithmetic mean of (2.77) and a standard deviation of (0.94). It also showed that there were no statistically significant differences at the level of significance (0.05 ≥ α) in the degree of appreciation of the study sample for the role of academic leaders at Al-Baha University in enhancing the efficiency of scientific research in the light of the strategic planning approach from the point of view of faculty members, according to the following variables: (gender - nationality - college - rank - years of experience - number of research published and accepted for publication). The study also concluded that there are a number of administrative, technical and financial obstacles facing faculty members at Al-Baha University in the field of publishing scientific research. Raising the level of scientific research efficiency as an important indicator of the quality of higher education, being the basic function of universities, as well as a basic requirement of the requirements included in the vision of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia 2030.
