This study aims at exploring the perceptions of basic education students in the Sultanate of Oman on sustainable healthy lifestyles and disease prevention methods in light of some variables. It adopted the descriptive approach based on a questionnaire consisting of (36) items. The items were divided into two main parts: healthy lifestyles and disease prevention methods. The reliability of the research instrument was measured using internal consistency: its Cronbach's alpha coefficient and split-half reliability reached (0.794) and (0.722), respectively. The study sample consisted of (3570) grade nine and ten students. The results concluded that basic education students have positive perceptions on sustainable healthy lifestyles, with personal hygiene scoring the highest, followed by nutrition and physical activities, while sleep pattern scoring the lowest. The results also showed that the students have positive perceptions on prevention and treatment methods. In addition, the results did not show any statistical significance in terms of gender or region into two main parts: sustainable healthy lifestyles and disease prevention methods. Hence, the study recommends enhancing basic education students’ awareness about the significance of leading sustainable healthy lifestyles. (Published abstract)
