The study aimed to reveal the achievement degree of the sustainable development goals in the content of science textbooks for the 5th and 7th basic grades in Jordan, and the degree of science teacher’s awareness in the methods of achieving them. In addition, it aims to use both types of the descriptive approach, which are survey-based and content analysis-based. Moreover, the study tools have been developed, which included the content analysis card built in the light of sustainable development goals and the scale of science teacher’s awareness in the methods of achieving them. The study results indicate that the percentage of achieving the sustainable development goals in the content of the 5thاgrade textbook was 28.19 %, whereas it was 13.15 % for the 7thا ا grade textbook. In addition, The ninth goal of the sustainable development goals was the most frequent in the content of both books, followed by the second goal in the 5th-grade textbook and the third goal in the 5thاgrade textbook, while the first, fifth, tenth, sixteenth, and seventeenth goals of the sustainable development goals were not achieved (0.0 %) in both textbooks. On the other hand, the degree of science teacher’s awareness in the methods of achieving the sustainable development goals was medium by 58.4%, and the fields came in descending order: the field of people is followed by the planet and then prosperity. The results indicate that there were no statistically significant differences (α= 0.05) because of gender, specialization, and teaching experience in all fields, and there were statistically significant differences (α=0.05) due to educational qualification. Finally, the study recommended the importance of educating teachers through training programs and analyzing the content of different stages of textbooks. (Author’s abstract)
