رؤية تربوية مستقبلية لتفعيل دور الجامعات الأردنية العامة في تنمية التربية الجمالية لدى طلبتها
This study aimed to provide a future educational vision to activate the role of Jordanian public universities in developing the aesthetic education among its students. It aimed to explore the reality of the role of Jordanian public universities in developing the aesthetic education among its students from the perspective of faculty members. A mixed approach was adopted. It involves the qualitative and quantitative approaches. A questionnaire was used for obtaining data from 387 female and male graduate students in Jordanian universities. Those students were chosen from three Jordanian universities in Jordan. Those universities Are: Yarmouk University in the Northern Province, the University of Jordan in the Central Province and Mu’tah University in the Southern Province. Data was collected during the academic year 2020/2021. Interviews were carried out with 31 faculty members in Jordanian universities. Based on the questionnaire, the reality of the role of Jordanian public universities in developing the aesthetic education among its students from the perspective of graduate students is moderate. There isn’t any significant difference –at the statistical significance level of (a=0.05)-between the graduate students’ attitudes towards the aforementioned role which can be attributed to gender. There is a significant difference –at the statistical in the second, third and fourth areas which can be attributed to academic level. The second area is (the role of student activities in in developing the aesthetic education). The third area is (the role of curricula in developing the aesthetic education). The fourth area is (the role of university media in developing the aesthetic education). The latter difference is for the favor of MA students. There is a significant difference between students’ attitudes which can be attributed to university for the favor of Mu’tah University and Yarmouk University. Based on the analysis of the qualitative analysis, the following terms: (aesthetic education, higher thinking skills, and emotional aesthetic aspects) are absent in Jordanian public universities. The significant role of faculty members specialized in aesthetic education is represented in serving as a role model. It was found that there aren’t aesthetic education courses and systematic activities in universities. In the light of the study’s results, the researcher proposed a future educational vision to activate the role of Jordanian public universities in developing the aesthetic education among its students.
