The current study aims to clarify the importance of culture in learning Arabic as a foreign language. It means the ability of the learner to understand, accept and respect the cultural differences. Because the learner deals with new vocabularies, grammatical structures, and beliefs that differ from his culture. These new situations may differ from the learner's beliefs and ideas. Therefore, it is necessary for the learner to interact with the educational and cultural content, express his opinion, and to be trained in cultural openness, which means accepting and respecting the cultural differences and preserving his cultural identity at the same time. Therefore, the current study seeks to highlight the position of linguistic culture as a fifth skill and acquisition it by reading the short story, and uses the descriptive analytical approach with its tools of induction, deduction and accuracy; To prove that language learners cannot dispense with acquiring cultural skill as an essential component of a foreign language. The main question of the study is: What cultural skills does the short story contribute to developing among second language learners? The most important findings of the study are, the most important cultural skills are: distinguishing the similarities and differences between the culture of the native language and the target language, accepting and respecting the differences, and recognizing the issues faced by the people of society and the different styles of thinking, beliefs, customs and traditions.
