The current study aims to identify the factors of social change affecting the increase in divorce rates in the Saudi society, a descriptive study applied to a group of academics in the field of social studies, using the descriptive analytical approach, and the study community consists of faculty members in three public universities, in the city of Riyadh, using the questionnaire tool, for the intentional sample, which amounted to (248) members, and the study found that the most important social factors affecting the increase in divorce rates, including women’s awareness of the rights and laws of marital life, the demand of one of the spouses for independence and complete privacy, the decrease in the social defect of divorce, and the economic factors concern for luxuries The formal manifestations and brands in light of the high cost of living, pressures and problems at work for the spouses, demanding a high expense, and cultural factors, including the desire for independence and lack of association due to cultural openness, followed by a difference in the level of education between spouses, and women driving a car, and among the most important proposals to reduce the high divorce rates are the most important Awareness of parents about the right way of education, accustoming them to taking responsibility, and spreading education In the educational curricula, clarify the tasks and roles entrusted to both sexes in family life, pay attention to the selection of specialists and academics to provide qualifying courses, and pay attention to the content provided in line with changes in society.
