This research aimed at investigating the effectiveness of a unit from the suggested primary stage mathematics curricula in light of the excellence-based curricula in developing deep understanding and values for primary stage students. A list of the basic standards that should be in the primary stage Mathematics curricula has been developed, Additionally, the current Mathematics curricula for fourth, fifth, and sixth stages have been evaluated in light of these standards. Based on a questionnaire for the importance of the current topics and ensuring the results of the evaluation, a suggested unit has been constructed. The experimental treatment included: student’s book, handouts, and teacher’s guide, Instruments of the research are: deep understanding test, Mathematical knowledge achievement test, (situational value test, value scale, and ethical and social values observation checklist). The results of the research revealed the following: 1) There is a statistical significant difference between participants’ mean scores in the pre-post administration of the deep understanding test as a whole and in each dimension of the test in favor of the post test. 2) There is a statistical significant difference between participants’ mean scores in the pre-post administration of the Mathematical knowledge achievement test as a whole and in each dimension of the test in favor of the post test. 3) There is a statistical significant difference between participants’ mean scores in the pre-post administration of the situational value test and value scale as a whole and in each dimension of the test in favor of the post test. 4) There is a statistical significant difference between participants’ mean scores in the pre-post administration of the situational value test and value scale as a whole and in each dimension of the test and the scale in favor of the post test. 5) There is a statistical significant difference between participants’ mean scores in the pre-post administration of the ethical and social values observation checklist as a whole and in each dimension of the checklist in favor of the post test. 6) There is a positive relationship between the development of deep understanding and the Mathematical knowledge of the research participants after applying the developed unit. 7) There is no correlation between the development of deep understanding and the ethical and social values of the research participants after applying the developed unit. 8) The Effectiveness of the suggested unit for developing deep understanding and values for primary school pupil.
