معتقدات المعلمين في الممارسات المحفزة لإبداع الأطفال : دراسة مقارنة بين الأردن وقطر
The purpose of this cross-cultural study is to investigate teachers' beliefs about creativity and their perceptions of their teaching practices to foster students creativity in Jordan and Qatar schools. Two questionnaires were developed; Teachers' Beliefs consists of 8 items, and Teachers' Practices consists of seven sub-scale distributed on 38 items. The sample of 524 primary teachers participated in the study by completing the questionnaires 58, teachers were later interviewed. Results indicated that teachers' beliefs were moderate and their perceptions of their practices were high on the total score and sub-scales. No correlation exists between teachers' beliefs and their perceptions of their teaching practices. Moreover, the result revealed differences in the teachers' beliefs between gender in favor of males and the country for Jordanian schools, and in the teachers' perceptions of their teaching practices of the gender in favor of females, in the whole tool and the sub scales and the country variable in favor of Qatar schools as of the total score and sub-scales except cooperation and motivation sub-scales. While there was no statistical difference for educational level variable. (Published abstract)
