This study aimed to identify the role of educational leaders in qualifying second grade leaders in the light of sustainable development. And to identify the extent of awareness of educational leaders. And the reality of their performance in qualifying second grade leaders in light of the requirements of sustainable development. And what are the challenges they face. To achieve this goal, the study tool was applied to a sample of 120 male and female employees from the departmental departments in the General Administration of Education in Jeddah. The results indicated that the degree of educational leaders' awareness of the requirements of sustainable development in the knowledge field was high, while the degree of their awareness in the applied fields was medium. The results also indicated that the actual performance of educational leaders in qualifying second grade leaders in light of the requirements of sustainable development came to a medium degree. And finally: Indications that the most challenging is the qualification of second grade leaders; The absence of plans, programs and strategies with great care before applying them to ensure their suitability to the reality of qualifying the second grade. The administration is concentrated in the hands of a limited class of senior administrative leaders. The researcher recommended the need to build a clear and organized training strategy to qualify the second-grade leadership and to develop programmed plans for training programs to develop their capabilities of future leaders and their thinking style in order to provide them with the necessary competencies to deal with the requirements of future leadership in the light of the requirements of sustainable development.
