تلوث البيئة المعلوماتية في الأوساط الأكاديمية وتأثيرها على النمو المعرفي لدى طلاب أقسام المكتبات والمعلومات بالجامعات المصرية
A study aimed at dealing with the pollution of the information environment in the academic community and its impact on the development of knowledge of the library and information departments students, and to how extent students can make benefit from internet to get information, and also to know the extent of students' awareness of the sources of pollution of the information environment. In addition to identifying the types of sources of pollution of the information environment according to students of library departments in Egyptian universities, with the identification of problems resulting from the pollution of the information environment to which students are exposed. Depending on the field approach which is based on collecting data about the research community, and analyzing that data to it's the final results of the study, with using of the descriptive analytical method. The results of the study revealed that 332 students with percentage 57.84% of the total number of students which is 574, who believe in what is called pollution of the information environment, while 14 students with percentage 2.43% not believe in the information environment is polluted. The study also proved the varity of the sources of pollution of the information environment, as well as the varity of rumors spreaded in the university community, it included social, health, educational, religious, political and other rumors. The ease of misrepresentation or falsification of information was one of the most prominent effects of the information environment pollution with percentage 79.97% of the total number of students, while the lowest impact of information pollution was represented in the result of negative impact of information on the culture and education of generations and societies by 15.50%.
