The study aimed to identify the Professional standards for school management and leadership in some African countries and the possibility of benefiting from them in the Sultanate of Oman. The study used the descriptive method, and the theory of content analysis was also used in document analysis in collecting data and information. The study reached a number of results, the most important of which are: The standards of school management and leadership in the Sultanate of Oman focus on addressing indicators without a comprehensive and integrated interpretation of those standards, and that the indicators of each standard are limited and very few and do not meet the aspirations of developing school leadership in the Sultanate of Oman in light of its future plans, and that it needs independent standards in knowledge, skills and professional Attitudes, It also needs to focus on contemporary educational and management terminology and concepts such as: strategic planning, community partnerships, information and communication technology, professional learning communities, and the ethics of the school management profession.
