The research aims to develop contemplative reading skills of students of the secondary one level using a program based on the theory of successful intelligence This necessitates theoretical study of those literary, researches and studies related to the subject of this research. The second chapter of this research deals with such issues with the purpose of reaching the philosophical bases of the research. The third chapter of this research demonstrates tools and procedures of the research which include: Prepare a list of the contemplative reading skills appropriate for the secondary one student. Prepare a program based on the theory of successful intelligence to develop the contemplative reading skills of the secondary one student. Prepare a test to measure the contemplative reading skills of the secondary one student. Choose a group of the secondary one student as the research sample. Conduct the contemplative reading test before teaching the program. Then, after teaching subjects of the program to the research sample in light of the theory of successful intelligence, the test will be conducted. A number of results were reached after the statistical treatment of the marks of the pro and post-tests. The fourth chapter deals with and discusses such results. (Published abstract)
