إستخدام مهارات التفكير الناقد عند التعرض للأفلام والمسلسلات : دراسة مسحية على عينة من الطالبات جامعة الملك سعود
The skills of analysis and criticism of the media represent an important pillar of media literacy that needs to be disseminated and strengthened among the masses in order enable them to reveal direct and indirect messages in media contents, especially in the era of media production flood in which we live today. This study aims to measure the students' awareness of criticism and analysis skills and the extent to which they use these skills when exposed to audio-visual media content such as movies and drama. The study used the descriptive survey method by conducting a questionnaire on a deliberate sample consisting of (120) female undergraduate students in the Department of Media at King Saud University. The major results indicate that there is a good level of media criticism among the sample members, which contradicts the results of previous studies. These results might be due to the sample members’ specialization in media studies and their study of modules related to developing critical thinking and analysis skills, such as media criticism and media literacy.
