This study aimed to identify the relationship between Nonadaptive cognitive schemes and each of alexithymia and self-stigma in low academic achiever university students', the relationship between alexithymia and self- stigma in low academic achiever university students', the extent of the contribution of alexithymia in the prediction of both the nonadaptive cognitive schemes and the self- stigma in low academic achiever university students', the extent of the contribution of non- adaptive cognitive schemes in predicting the self- stigma in low academic achiever university students', the role of partial correlation of the effect of non- adaptive cognitive schemes on the relationship between alexithymia and self-stigma in low academic achiever university students', and the differences in non- adaptive cognitive schemes, alexithymia and self- stigma according to gender (male/ female). It was applied to (250) male and female students, among the low academic achiever students in the first and second classes, who had failed in one or more academic subjects and transferred to the next class or failed in a full academic year in the faculties of (Education, Specific Education)- Aswan University, with an average age of (19.97) years and a standard deviation of (2.13), during the first semester of the academic year 2020/2021 AD, In order to achieve the objectives of the study, the researcher prepared the following tools: measures for (alexithymia and self- stigma), and the non- adaptive cognitive schemes scale, prepared by Young, translation and Arabization by (Abd al Rahman and Saafan, 2015). The study resulted in a set of results, the most important of which are: There is a statistically significant correlation between non- adaptive cognitive schemes, alexithymia and self- stigma in low academic achiever university students', and alexithymia can predict both the nonadaptive cognitive schemes and the self- stigma in low academic achiever university students', adaptive cognitive schemes can predict self- stigma and the possibility of partial correlation of the effect of non- adaptive cognitive schemes on the relationship between alexithymia and self- stigma in low academic achiever university students', and existence of statistically significant differences in the dimensions of the non- adaptive cognitive schemes, alexithymia and self- stigma in low academic achiever university students', according to gender (male/ female).
