The current study aimed to verify the effectiveness of the self- compassion training program in reducing psychological depression in a sample of mothers of children with mental disabilities, and the study also aimed to identify the type of correlation between self- compassion and psychological depression among mothers of children with mental disabilities, and is it possible to predict Depression through the level of self-compassion among the sample members, and the descriptive study sample included (111) mothers of children with mental disabilities in the School of Intellectual Education and Specialized Centers in Fayoum Governorate, their chronological age ranged between 24 to 49 years (with an average of 34.2 years and a standard deviation of 7.07).), and the experimental sample consisted of one group consisting of (12) mothers who were selected from the basic sample provided that they obtained less than 27% of the scores of the two scales (self-compassion Beck’s depression list), and the researcher has translate the original Neff scale (self- compassion, 2003). And using the Beck Depression List, second version, and the psychometric efficacy of these tools was verified on a sample of (138) mothers of children with mental disabilities. The training program used in the study was also prepared, and the results of the study revealed a significant negative correlation between the study sample’s scores on the self- compassion scale and their scores on Beck’s depression list, and the study concluded that the level of psychological depression can be predicted from self-compassion, and the results showed an improvement in self-compassion and a clear decrease in symptoms of psychological depression after the application of the program and after the follow- up period.
