This study aimed to know the degree to which school leaders applied smart accountability measures in support of transforming public schools into quality units from the point of view of school leaders, and used the descriptive survey approach, and to achieve the goals, a questionnaire was developed that was applied to a random stratified sample consisting of (770) principals and managers for the academic year 2020/2021, and its validity and reliability were verified. The results of the study indicated that the degree of school leaders’ application of smart accountability measures that support the transformation of public schools into quality units from the school leaders’ point of view is average for all fields; the evaluation and diversity of performance indicators came in first place, with an arithmetic average of (3.44), followed by the area of participation and responsibility with an arithmetic average of (3.42). Finally, the area of interest in the quality of education with an arithmetic mean of (3.41). The arithmetic mean of the school leaders' estimates for the fields of study as a whole was (3.42) with an average application. In light of the results, the study recommended the necessity of preparing an administrative guide for school leaders to implement smart accountability measures that support the transformation of public schools into quality units.
