The current study has aimed at setting up a suggested perception to activate Assiut university role in particular in supporting the dimensions of civic education for students. The study has used the descriptive method as it suits the study nature and its objectives. The researcher has used a content analysis form to analyze the content of a sample of cultural courses and student activities plans and guides at theoretical and practical faculties at Assiut University; to identify the extent of including the civic education dimensions in these courses and student activities. The researcher has used a questionnaire which was applied on a sample of (2407) student at the first and fourth grades at some theoretical and practical faculties at Assiut University to explore the current reality of civic education dimensions and the role of the university in supporting theses dimensions and the obstacles that face the university in supporting them. The study has come down to several universities, most important of which are: the lack of university role which is represented in the roles of staff members, courses, student activities, and university administration in supporting the dimensions of civic education for its students in compared to the universities, in the countries place of current study, which pay interest to educating and spreading the concept of civic education among students. The study has presented a suggested proposal to activate the university role in Egypt in reinforcing the dimensions of civic education for students in the light of the experiences of some advanced of countries and the field study.
