The study aimed to know the role of the story in developing critical listening skills among primary school students in Jordan from the point of view of Arabic language teachers. The researcher used in her study the descriptive survey method. The study members consist of (50) male and female teachers who teach the Arabic language in the primary stage in the schools of the Directorate of Education of the Northwestern Badia District, and they were chosen by the available method. The researcher prepared a questionnaire consisting of (34) items for the skills of critical listening, and she was sure of their validity and reliability. In its results, it concluded that the role of the story in developing critical listening skills for elementary school students from the point of view of Arabic language teachers came with a moderate degree. The study also found that there were no statistically significant differences for the effect of academic qualification, gender, and experience regarding the role of the story in developing critical listening skills for primary school students from the point of view of Arabic language teachers. The study recommended a number of related recommendations, including: the inclusion of selected stories in the Arabic language curriculum, some for listening, and some for reading, and urging teachers who are studying Arabic to follow the strategies of teaching the story, to teach the skills of this language, including listening, speaking, reading and writing.
