The research aimed to identify the impact of (Express - Plan - Evaluate) strategy on developing mathematical thinking and achievement in mathematics among fifth-grade students in Mafraq Governorate. The study used semi-experimental approach on a sample consisted of (56) female students distributed on two classes equally, (28) female students in each class, intentionally chosen from the Al-Rabeea Bint Al-Moaoud School for Girls in the Directorate of Education of Mafraq during the first semester of the academic year 2018/2019. Randomly, one of the two classes was appointed as a control group and the other class as an experimental group. To achieve the objectives of the study, the researcher prepared two tools, namely the Mathematical Thinking Test and the Academic Achievement Test, and their validity and reliability were confirmed. The research concluded many results, the most important of which were: The existence of differences between the Arithmetic Mean on the Mathematical Thinking Test as well as, on the Academic Achievement Test according to the use of the (Express - Plan - Evaluate) strategy among the fifth grade students, where it was found that the students of the experimental group who studied using the strategy of (Express - Plan - Evaluate) had a higher responses compared to the responses of the students in the control group who studied by the traditional method. In addition, there is an effect of using the strategy of (Express - Plan - Evaluate) on developing mathematical thinking and improving mathematical achievement, in favour of students who studied using the strategy (Express - Plan - Evaluate). In light of the results, the researcher made many recommendations. (Author’s abstract)
