This study aims to reveal the effectiveness of using rhythmic chants in developing Arabic sounds for kindergarten children. In addition to that, this study determines children’s level in pronouncing the Arabic sounds, as well as provides a list of pronunciations skills for kindergarten children. The sample consisted of (50) children from Al Dhafra private schools in Al Ain city during the academic year of 2019-2020. In order to achieve the study aims, a list of Arabic sounds pronunciation skills; performance evaluation scale in pronouncing sounds, and educational programs for Arabic sounds was prepared. The list includes purposeful rhythmic chants and exciting vocal exercises based on the pronunciation of Arabic sounds to help children pronounce the sounds properly. Results showed that there are statistically significant differences between the experimental and control groups at the level (0.003) for the benefit for the experimental group, which was studied using the chants strategy. Furthermore, the results showed an improvement in the sound performance in the experimental group after applying the program. Finally, it is recommended to concentrate on the chants strategy in terms of using it as a curriculum taught to children as well as using chants based on sounds. (Author's abstract)
