تأهيل والدي أطفال ذوي الإعاقة العقلية على تطبيق برنامج بورتج الحديث للتدخل المبكر : دراسة على عينة من والدي الأطفال من عمر (3-6) سنوات في مراكز التربية الخاصة في محافظة عمان



This study has targeted rehabilitation of parents of children with mental disability to implement the portage modern program for early intervention: a study on a sample of age (3-6) years in special education centers in Amman governorate; whereas this study has exploited the descriptive analytical methodology, while the study medium has comprised (60) parents of children afflicted with mental disability, among whom there were (49) mothers and (11) fathers. In this regard, a questionnaire has been furnished specially to cover that in a means conforming with our relevant study. The study has pointed to a group of outcomes, the most significant ones are: the majority of the sample's individuals were mothers possessing homes, whilst nearly half of the sample's individuals held the general secondary certificate, more than half the number of their children had (4-6) children; on the other hand, three quarters of the parents of mental disability children were residing in cities, and nearly half attributed congenital (inborn) factors as the grounds for their children's disability, and half of whom were staying (less than one year) at the centers. Also, the social emotional dimension obtained a high and medium degree, which concludes the significance of this very dimension in rehabilitating the parents of the disabled children. On the outcomes of the exploratory/ learning methods dimension, they were composed in a way that the majority of the paragraphs of this dimension has reached a medium and high degree, which materialized the importance of the exploratory/ learning methods dimension in rehabilitating the parents of the disabled children; whilst on the results of communication dimension, they were formalized through the fact that the majority of the paragraphs of this dimension obtained a medium and high degree, thus indicating the importance of the communication dimension in rehabilitating the parents of such children. Moreover, among the most outstanding recommendations announced by this our study are: activate the role of parents more broadly and comprehensively in early intervention programs, designing educational and cognitive workshops for the parents of children with disabilities regarding the program of the new portal for early intervention by introducing them, making awareness programs by the ministry of development and the supreme council for persons with disabilities that show the importance of early intervention programs and its benefits for children with disabilities and their families, conducting other research studies related to the modern portage program in the centers that started to apply other than the centers mentioned in this study.
