This study aims to detect the relationship between the phenomena addiction to the internet and the academic achievement among the students of the University of Algeria and the University Tizi Ouzou, the problem of research is answer of this question: is there relationship between addiction to the internet and the academic achievement? The sample of the research was (200) students’ females and males were randomly selected from specialization scientific and literary, and used analytical descriptive method. To investigate the aims of the study, the researcher prepared the measure of addiction to the internet and test of academic achievement. The research hypotheses: 1) there is a statistically significant correlation between the addiction to the internet and the academic achievement. 2) There are not differences in the addiction to the internet according to sex variable. 3) There are not differences statistically significant in the addiction to the internet according to specialization variable. The study resulted in findings of study as follows: there is not a statistically significant correlation between the addiction to the internet and the academic achievement. There are differences in the addiction to the internet according to sex variable. There are differences statistically significant in the addiction to the internet according to specialization variable. In light the results of the study, the researcher recommended some of the recommendation and proposals. (Published abstract)
