فاعلية منصة إدراك (edraak) في تنمية مهارات حل المسائل الهندسية لمادة الرياضيات لدى طلبة الصف السابع الأساسي
This study aims at identifying the effectiveness of the Edraak platform in developing problem-solving skills of seventh grade students in the field of Engineering (mathematics). Edraak is a non-profit massive open online course (MOOC) portal established by Queen Rania Al Abdallah of Jordan for the promotion of knowledge in the Arab World. It was launched in 2014 and as the first in the Arab World. To achieve the goals of the study, the study adopted a semi- experimental approach, and applied an achievement test in mathematics consisting of 20 questions after having confirmed its reliability and validity. At the beginning of the second semester, it was applied to 126 male and female students randomly divided into 2 groups. The first group was an experimental group of 64 male and female students who studied with the help of the Edraak platform. The second group was a control group of 62 male and female students who studied the conventional way in Al-Watan Al-Arabi Schools located in the Qweismeh district of the Amman governorate in the first part of the second term 2019/2020. The findings of the study indicate a statistical difference between the average scores of the students in the experimental and the control group in the post hoc geography test in favour of the experimental group, in addition to a statistical difference in the performance of the different genders within the experimental group in favour of males. The study concluded with several recommendations. The most prominent was to extend future studies to include research into developing the system of distance education and education based on educational platforms in Jordan to be prepared for times of crisis.
