The aim of the present study was to evaluate social studies curriculum content for the first grade of middle school in Saudi Arabia in the light of environmental problems. The researcher prepared a list of environmental problems which should be contained in social studies curriculum and analyzed the curriculum content in the light of these environmental problems. The study identified (35) environmental problems tapped six categories: atmosphere, hydrosphere, lithosphere, biosphere and problems linked to humans. The results also showed that the curriculum content contained (15) environmental problem, its percentage 42.8%. These results showed the weakness of the curriculum content in dealing with environmental problems. (Published abstract)
