أثر توظيف استراتيجية تنال القمر في تنمية مهارات التفكير الإبداعي في مادة الدراسات الاجتماعية لدى طالبات الصف الثامن الأساسي بغزة

This study aimed at discovering the impact of implementing POSSE Strategy in improving creative thinking skills at social studies for eighthgrade girls in Gaza Strip. To achieve the objectives of this study, the researcher used the Experimental approach based on examining two equivalent groups (Control & Experimental). The study community was 2077 girls from the West of Gaza area. The study sample was two randomly chosen classes from Hamama Elementary Girls (B) School; 2 groups consisting of 72 eighth-grade girls, each has 36 girls. One group is experimental, and the other is the control that studied using the traditional approach and this was during the first semester, 2018 - 19. The researcher prepared the Creative Thinking Test as a study tool and verified its reliability, stability and validity for applying. The researcher also used statistical tools such as the Independent Sample T-Test, Paired Sample T-Test and ETA-squared (Size Effect) for checking the impact of POSSE Strategy on creative thinking skills in social studies. The study found the following: 1) There are statistically significant differences at the 0.01 level between the average scores of the Experimental girls' group that studied through the POSSE Strategy and the average scores of the Control group that studied through the traditional approaches in terms of the post-test of the creative thinking skills test in social studies in favor of the Experimental group. 2) There are statistically significant differences at the 0.01 level between the average scores of the Experimental girls' group that studied using the POSSE Strategy in the pre-test and in the post-test of the creative thinking skills test in social studies in favor of the post-test. 3) There are NO statistically significant differences between the average scores of the Experimental girls' group that studied using the POSSE Strategy in the post-test and the follow-up test of the creative thinking skills test in social studies. In the light of the previous-mentioned results, the researcher has highly recommended generalizing the implementing of POSSE Strategy in education, especially in learning social studies due to its obvious impact in improving creative thinking skills. The researcher has also recommended training students on different creative thinking skills and getting away from the traditional methods in teaching social studies as well. (Author’s abstract)
