The current research aimed to investigate the effect of using electronic mind-maps in teaching Arabic in developing first grade preparatory students' achievement and generative thinking skills. To achieve the objectives of the study, the researcher designed the following instructional materials and tools: an Arabic language achievement test, a generative thinking test and a teacher's guide. The research was applied to two groups: experimental and control. Each one comprised of 30 first grade preparatory male/female students. The results revealed that there were statistically significant differences at (0.01) between the mean scores of the experimental group students and those of their controlled group peers in the post assessment of their academic achievement and generative thinking. The study recommended: 1) Using mind-maps in teaching the Arabic language and its various branches at the all educational stages. 2) Preparing training courses for the Arabic language teachers on how to design and use the electronic mid-maps. 3) Re-formulating the content of Arabic language curricula in terms of the notion of mind-mapping. 4) Designing a manual on how to prepare and use electronic mind-maps that helps teachers plan their lessons and helps students develop their experience. 5) Adopting up-to-date methods and techniques to develop students' generative thinking skills in the different educational stages.
