The research aims to identify the nature of the relationship between self-compassion and avoidant personality disorder in secondary school Students, also to identify the gender differences in two variables self-compassion and avoidant personality disorder. And to know the predictability of avoidant personality disorder through some dimensions of self-compassion. The sample of the research consisted of (100) male and female students from the first and second secondary students, and the researchers used the following study tools: self-compassion scale prepared by Neff (Neff, 2003) translated by Mohammad al-Sayyid Abd al-Rahman and his colleagues (2015), and avoidant personality disorder scale prepared by Sally Hessein Nassar and The results showed a statistically significant negative correlation between self-compassion and avoidant personality disorder .with regard to the gender differences in the two research variables, the results indicated that there were statistically significant differences between males and females in the self-compassion variable in favor of males and in the variable avoidant personality disorder in favor of females and it was found that Self-kindness (dimension of self-compassion) predict with avoidant personality disorder.
