In order to achieve the objectives of the study, the researcher built a higher- order thinking scale as well as a training program. The sample consisted of (43) seventh grade students (25 males and 18 females) of the from al-faqih international school in Amman. The sample was distributed: an experimental and a control group, with experimental group including (23) male and female students (15 males and 8 females) while the control group consisted of 20 students; (10 male and 10 females). The results of the study showed significant statistical differences at (a = 0.05) on the post test of higher order -thinking skills, due to the training program in favor of the experimental group. In addition, no differences were found between males and females in the higher- order thinking skills. The interaction between the group and gender proved to have no significant effect in promoting higher - order thinking. (Author's abstract)
