فاعلية برنامج إرشادي لتنمية الوعي الاستهلاكي الغذائي لطالبات الإقتصاد المنزلي بالمرحلة الجامعية
The main objective of the study is to establish and design a guiding program to develop food consumption awareness among female students. The sample of the study consisted of 240 female students of the Faculty of Home Economics, Menoufia University. The study tools were applied to these students, as follows: Procedures: Questionnaire on social and economic conditions of the students. Food consumption awareness scale as represented by a questionnaire covering the (information, practices, trends) of the students. The guiding program that is designed to develop food consumer awareness of undergraduate students. The key results of the study program were as follows: No statistically-significant differences were noted between the average scores of students with working mothers and with non-working mothers at the three levels of food consumption awareness of undergraduate female students of home economics. A statistically-significant difference was noted among undergraduate students of home economics subject to the study regarding the level of food consumption awareness in terms of “practices” of students based on the monthly income of the family. A statistically significant difference of 0.001 was noted between the average scores of students comprising the experimental study sample in terms of food consumption awareness before and after the application of the guiding program for the post-program application. Among the key recommendations of the study is the need to provide guiding programs on healthy eating habits for all age groups through universities, schools and the mass media. (Author’s abstract)
