Altruistic behavior is the highest positive social behavior that can be enjoyed by man because it constitutes the real essence and the mother base of morality, If any society wants to be civilized, its members must enjoy altruistic behavior, As young people represent the strength and resilience of the society in which they live and the age at which they depend on the progress of society and the altruistic c behavior of young people will make their society immune to any risks and problems then this society will be a positively positive society. The Study environment contributes in one way or another to the development of altruistic behavior among young people, whether at school or university And that through the university offers different sciences, some focus on the human side and some focus on the applied side, which requires students to be collaborators such as university research That require a collective team effort by students Or through continuous study and preparation for applied and theoretical exams in college. Societies sometimes face special circumstances such as wars, and then the moral system of these societies may collapse, causing the collapse of the moral values of the members of these communities and the biggest example of this is what has happened in Syria since the spring of 2011 to the present day, where the war in Syria has negatively affected the social relations between individuals and negatively affected the positive social behaviors of the people. Unfortunately, moral values are somewhat missing: Help, participate, protect others and altruism, The prevailing values have become violence, aggression and selfishness, While studying at the university, the researcher observed a significant decrease in the behavior of help, cooperation and altruism among university students, The researcher also carried out a prospective study on a sample of students of the University of Damascus branch of Daraa In order to know the level of altruistic behavior and social intelligence among students, The researcher was acquainted with previous literature and studies that dealt with altruistic behavior and social intelligence among university students, All of the above mentioned justification was born to the researcher a sense of the need to research more in the subject of the study, The researcher then crystallized the problem of the study with the following question: Is there a relationship between altruistic behavior and social intelligence among a sample of students of the University of Damascus branch of Daraa ? This study aimed to identify the nature of the relationship between altruistic behavior and social intelligence among the study sample and the differences on the Scales of altruistic behavior and social intelligence among the study sample according to the variables of sex and academic specialization (applied and human colleges) and the academic year (first and fourth year). To achieve the objectives of the study the researcher used: a scale of altruistic Behavior (developed by the researcher) which consists of (26) distributed over a 3 dimensions are: Voluntary in helping other, Preference the interests of others over personal interest, and Endangering one's life for the lives of others. And a scale of social intelligence by Kneta (2016) which consists of (27) distributed an item on 2 dimensions: social communication and social skills. The sample of the basic study consisted of 435 male and female students of applied and theoretical faculties at Damascus University / Daraa branch for the academic year 2018/2019 distributed 176 male and female students from applied colleges and 259 male and female students from humanities faculties Study Methodology, the researcher used the descriptive and correlative methodology, and adopted the statistical program SPSS-20 in analyzing the results of the study. The study reached the following results: 1) That there a moderate level in total score on the scale of Altruistic behavior with the students study sample. 2) That there a moderate level in total score on the scale of social intelligence with the students’ study sample. 3) The Social intelligence contributes in predicting Altruistic Behavior among a sample study of students. 4) There is a positive statistically significant correlation between the scores of students’ study sample altruistic behavior scale and the scores on the social intelligence scale, and on the sex, academic major and academic year variables. 5) There are statistically significant differences between the scores of the students study sample to altruistic behavior Scale depending on the sex variable in favor of males, and on the academic major in favor of the theoretical college students, and on the academic year variable in favor of forth year students. 6) There are no statistically significant differences between the scores of the students research sample to social intelligence Scale depending on the sex variable. 7) There are statistically significant differences between the scores of the students study sample to social intelligence Scale depending on the academic major variable in favor of the scientific college students, and on the academic year in favor of forth year students.
