فاعلية برنامج تعليمي محوسب في العلوم مستند الى نموذج مكارثي في اكتساب المفاهيم العلمية وتنمية مهارات التفكير التأملي لدى طلبة المرحلة الأساسية في الأردن



The study aimed to identify the effectiveness of a computerized Instructional program based on the McCarthy model, in acquiring scientific concepts and reflective thinking skills among basic stage students in Jordan. The study followed the semi-experimental design. The sample of the study consists of (128) female and male students chosen from Modern System Schools (MSS) at Directorate of Education – Aljama’a district - Amman in the second academic semester 2017/2018. The students were divided into two groups, the experimental group consists of students of two classes, one for males and the other for females who studied according to the McCarthy computer based educational program. The control group consists of students of two classes one for males and the other for females who studied according to the conventional strategy. To satisfy the aims of the study, a test for scientific concepts and another for reflective thinking skills were held which showed acceptable level of validity and reliability. The results showed that there is a statistically significant effect at the level (α=0.05) between the average marks for both experimental and control groups in the scientific concepts and reflective thinking tests in favor of the experimental group. In addition, it showed a statistically significant effect for the interaction between teaching method and gender in favor of females in terms of their performance in both of scientific concepts and reflective thinking tests.
