The current study aimed at identifying the effect of Quranic maxims-based program on developing Arabic handwriting skills and academic achievement in Arabic and aesthetic taste among preparatory school students. The researcher chose one-group experimental design which is appropriate for both the objective and nature of the study. The study group included 31 students and the researcher prepared the following tools to achieve the objective of the study: 1) A list of Arabic handwriting skills (Naskh-Ru’qua). 2) A list of Aesthetic Taste skills. 3) A suggested program based on Qura’nic maxims and consisted of both student's book and teacher’s guide. 4) Arabic Calligraphy Test. 5) Achievement Test in Arabic language. 6) Aesthetic Taste Test. Comparison of pre-test and post-test performance of students in Arabic Calligraphy test showed statistically significant difference at level 0.05 in favor of post-test performance. Statistical treatment also illustrated the great effect of the suggested program on developing Arabic handwriting skills among those students. This was proved by using Eta Square to measure the effect size of the suggested program. An effect size of 0.94 was reported for the program. Moreover, comparison of pre-test and post-test performance of students in achievement test in Arabic showed a significance difference at 0.05 in favor of the post-test performance. Statistical treatment also reflected the effect of improving Arabic handwriting on developing academic achievement in Arabic among the study group. This was proved by calculating the effect size which was 0.89. Comparison of pre-test and post-test performance of students on aesthetic taste scale revealed a statistically significant difference at 0.05 in favor of the post-test performance. Statistical treatment also revealed the effect of improving Arabic handwriting on developing aesthetic taste skills among the study group. An effect size of 0.92 was reported. In the light of the abovementioned findings, the current research offered the following recommendations: 1) Paying particular attention to Quran since it is a way of life helping students to learn and acquire linguistic skills. 2) Activating students' aesthetic sense of Arabic calligraphy through providing creative calligraphic examples for outstanding calligraphists and advertisements hoardings. 3) Placing emphasis on training programs for Arabic teachers to train them how to develop their students’ Arabic handwriting skills, and to provide them with appropriate teaching strategies and assessment means.
