This research aims to determine the relation between the digital image retrieval types (text / graphical / camera) through mobile search applications and the achievement and search engagement. This research depends on the semi-experimental design for comparison between the experimental groups. The research sample consists of (24) deaf students, Institute of al-amal, in Jeddah who are divided randomly into four different groups. The research has designed tow tools: achievement test, engagement scale. Croskal and Ellis were used to calculate variance significance, and Mann Whitney calculated the direction of the differences. The research comes to the conclusion that graphical based image retrieval (GBIR) and camera based image retrieval (CBIR) better than the text based image retrieval (TBIR) in achievement and search engagement, but there were no statistically significant differences between (GBIR) and (CBIR) in developing achievement and engagement. The research recommended the need to expand the process of employment mobile search application in educational situations. (Published abstract)
