The Use of virtual libraries in developing learning Skills of Sudan Open University students. The study aims at how to use virtual libraries to develop the learning skills for the student of Sudan Open University by knowing the extent to which the students are open to virtual libraries and the students’ attitudes towards using these types of libraries. The study used the descriptive method. The tool used was the questionnaire. The study population consisted of students from Sudan Open University- Bahri Educational Region. The study sample consisted of 70 students. The statistical method used are the percentage- the median- the selection of square. The study concluded with these most important results: 1) Students use virtual libraries at any time and from any place and use the database directory and computer indexes and also use the virtual libraries to view the topics and articles related to the field of study. 2) Students’ positive attitudes toward the using the virtual library. 3) The study revealed that the necessary competencies for students to use the virtual library are: knowledge of the physical components– the use of the Internet and search engines to obtain information. 4) There is a number of obstacles face the students when they use virtual libraries. Finally the study recommended the following: To take care of this type of library and develop a kind of curriculum that is directly related to the competencies required for practical and theoretical distance communication technology.
