This research aims to explore possible relationship between emotional empathy and job satisfaction among a sample of school counselors in official Damascus province (n=159). Results indicate the following: emotional empathy level was high, and the job satisfaction level was high, as well as showing a positive relationship between emotional empathy and job satisfaction. Moreover, no differences exist between the counselors in the level of emotional empathy that can be attributed to specialization, while differences exist between the counselors in the level of empathy depending on years of experience in favor of workers with more experience, also been shown no differences between counselors in the degree of job satisfaction due to specialization while showing the existence of differences between the counselors in the degree of job satisfaction due to years of experience and the differences in favor of the workers with more years of experience. Years of experience came to be the most influential variable on the level of emotional empathy, and job satisfaction. (Published abstract)
