The present study aimed to recognize the effectiveness of a training program for help the mothers of hard of hearing children to develop the speech levels of their children at the ages of 4 – 6 years. To achieve the aims of this study, the researcher developed the speech levels scale of the hard of hearing children which was made up of four main dimensions: the Phoneme, the syllable, the word, and the sentence. Acceptable instrument validity and reliability were reached using the integrity of content and the integrity of internal coherence. The coefficients of reliability were extracted using the Crosinbach Alpha method, repetition, and half segmentation. The researcher also set the training skills scale from the point of view of the mothers of the hard of hearing children, which was made up of two dimensions: the information dimension and the training skills dimensions. Moreover, acceptable instrument validity and reliability were reached using the validity of content and the validity of internal coherence. The coefficients of reliability were extracted using the Crosinbach Alpha, repetition, and half segmentation. The researcher carried out the program over 96 sessions during six months. The study sample included 20 hard of hearing children and 10 of their mothers. The sample members were divided into an experimental group and a controlling group equally. The study results pointed out statistically significant differences on the training skills scale from the point of view of the mothers of the hard of hearing children between the members of the experimental group (the hard of hearing children) and the members of the controlling group (the mothers of the hard of hearing children) which were in favor of the experimental group regarding the scale as a whole and its two dimensions. The study pointed out statistically significant differences on the speech skills scale between the members of the experimental group (the hard of hearing children who were receptive to extra training from the mother) and the members of the experimental group (the hard of hearing children who were non-receptive to extra training from the mother), and the differences were in favor of the first group regarding the scale as a whole and its dimensions. The study pointed out statistically significant differences between the post and pre- tests for the experimental group (the hard of hearing children) on the speech skills scale with its aspects and the total score favoring the post- test. The study pointed out statistically significant differences between the post-and pre- tests for the experimental group (the mothers of the hard of hearing children) on the training skills scale from the point of view of the mothers of the hard of hearing children with its aspects and the total score favoring the post- test.
