أثر قصص الأطفال في تنمية بعض مهارات التعبير الشفهي الإبداعي لدى طلبة الصف الرابع الأساسي

The current study aimed at identifying the effect of the stories of children on the development of some of the creative oral expression skills of the fourth grade pupils. The problem of the study was represented in the following main question: What is the effect of the stories of children on the development of the creative oral expression skills of the fourth grade pupils? The following sub-questions branch from the main question: 1) What are the most important creative oral expression skills? 2) Is there a difference between the average of the grades of the experimental group and the average of the grades of the control group in the previous use of the note card of the creative oral expression skills? 3) Is there a difference between the average of the experimental group grades and the average of the grades of the control group in the subsequent use of the note card of the creative oral expression skills? 4) Are there statistically significant differences at the level (a ≤ 0.05) between the average of the experimental group grades and the average of the control group grades in the subsequent reading test of the creative oral expression skills? 5) Is there a relationship between the study achievement level in the Arabic Language of the fourth grade pupils and the level of their proficiency in the creative oral expression skills? The study hypotheses were represented in the following: 1) There are no statistically significant differences at the level (a ≤ 0.05) between the average of the experimental group grades and the average of the control group grades in the previous use of the note card of the creative oral expression skills. 2) There are no statistically significant differences at the level (a ≤ 0.05) between the average of the experimental group grades and the average the control group grades in the subsequent use of the note card of the creative oral expression skills. 3) There are no statistically significant differences at the level (a ≤ 0.05) between the average of the experimental group grades and the average of the control group grades in the subsequent reading test of the creative oral expression skills. 4) There is no relationship between the study achievement level in the Arabic Language of the fourth-grade pupils and the level of their proficiency in the creative oral expression skills. The researcher used the experimental approach as it suits the current study being” the effect of teaching the story on achievement”. The original society of the study consisted of the fourth grade pupils in UNRWA schools in the Middle Area Governorate (Nusairat and Buraig) amounting to (3391) pupils. A purposive sample from a school in Nusairat Area which is Nusairat Preparatory Co-education School was selected. Two classes from the school were randomly selected by drawing lots. The study sample comprised (64) male and female pupils. The experimental group comprised (32) male and female pupils while the control group consisted of (32) male and female pupils from the fourth grade pupils in year 2012-2013. The researcher distributed the children stories to the experimental group for two months to be read by the pupils at home and returned back the next day. The researcher also used the note card and an oral test in the creative oral expression skills prepared by the researcher as two tools for the current study. The current study found the following most important results: 1) There are no statistically significant differences at the level (≤ 0.05) between the average of the experimental group grades and the average of the control group grades in the previous use of the note card of the creative oral expression skills. 2) There are statistically significant differences at the level (≤ 0.05) between the average of the experimental group grades and the average of the control group grades in the subsequent use of the note card, attributed to the employment of the stories of children in the creative oral expression skills in favor of the experimental group. 3) There are statistically significant differences at the level (a ≤ 0.05) between the average of the experimental group grades and the average of the control group grades in the subsequent reading test attributed to the employment of the stories of children in the creative oral expression skills in favor of the experimental group. 4) There is no relationship between the study achievement level in the Arabic language of the fourth grade pupils and the level of their proficiency in the creative oral expression skills. Accordingly, the study stressed the importance of activating the stories of children in teaching the creative oral expression skills in the primary stage and the importance of directing teachers to use the story in the teaching process and employing it in teaching Arabic language.
