أثر استخدام التواصل المدعم بالفيديو على تطوير الطلاقة والدافعية لدى طلاب الصف العاشر في اللغة الإنجليزية
This study aimed to investigate the effect of using VMC on developing the Tenth Grade EFL learners’ fluency and motivation. The participants of the study consisted of 40 tenth grade students in Umm Annam Ash-sharqiyyah Secondary School for Boys in Mafraq Directorate of Education, in the first semester of the academic year 2016/2017. The participants of the study were divided into two sections; section A consisted of 20 students, which was chosen as an experimental group. It was taught the material by using VMC, section B consisted of 20 students, it was selected as a control group, it was taught by using regular instruction. A pre/post test and a questionnaire were administrated to assess the effect of using VMC on developing the EFL learners’ fluency and motivation. Students in both groups sat to pre-post test to establish their equivalence before starting the experiment. After eight weeks, the same test was administered on the both groups as a post test to assess students’ developing in fluency. A questionnaire was administered on the experimental group to measure the students’ improvement in motivation. Relevant statistical analysis related to means, standard deviation-test and One way ANOVA were used. The findings of the study indicated that using VMC in language teaching and learning had a significant effect on developing students’ fluency and improving their motivation. The findings of the study also indicated that it was clear that the difference was in favor of the experimental group. This might due to the effect of using VMC. Accordingly, a set of recommendations were provided at the end of the study to encourage using VMC in language teaching and learning. (Author’s abstract)
