صورة الجسم وعلاقتها ببعض المتغيرات النفس-اجتماعية لدى طالبات الجامعة في المجتمع السعودي
This study aimed at discovering the relation between body image and some psycho-social variables (depression- self-concept- Methods of treatment of parental). It also aimed at knowing the differences among female university students who have positive body image and their peers who have negative body image on the scales of the study (depression- self- concept- Methods of treatment of parental for each parent.) The sample of the study consists of 200 students from Girls’ College of Education in Abha- King Khalid University- Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The study concluded the following results: 1) there was a statistically significant negative correlation between the scores of the participants on the body image scale and the depression scale. 2) There was a statistically significant positive relationship between the scores of the participants on the body image scale and the self-concept scale. 3) There was a statistically significant relationship between the scores of the participants on the body image scale and Methods of treatment of parental scale. 4) There were statistically significant differences between the average of the scores of the participant who have positive body image and the scores of the participants who have negative body image for the benefit of the participants who have negative body image on the depression scale and for the benefit of participants who have positive body image on the self- concept scale. 5) There were statistically significant differences between the average of the scores of the participants who have positive body image and the scores of the participants who have negative body image for the benefit of the participants who have positive body image on the scale of Methods of treatment of parental of father image whereas there were not statistically significant differences between the average of the scores of the participants who have positive body image and the scores of the participants who have negative body image on the scale of Methods of treatment of parental of the mother image.
