The study aims to investigate the effectiveness of a structured-collaborative authoring experience on the Web from the viewpoint of pre-service teachers at College of Education, Kuwait University. A three-component professional preparation model was implemented that includes creating an e-content through using the “Wikibooks” tool in light of adopting the National Educational Technology standards. The study used the case study method with a sample consisted of 37 student teachers. A questionnaire was used after securing its validity and reliability to identify the perceptions of the student teachers as regards the effectiveness of the collaborative-authoring experience in providing them with the targeted skills: Instructional design, collaborative with colleagues, and digital citizenship. The study aims also to identify the attitudes of the student teachers towards that experience. The results of the study reveal the effectiveness of the collaborative-authoring experience in providing the students teachers with all the targeted skills. Moreover, the results show the presence of high attitudes among the student teachers towards that experience. Finally, the study concludes with some recommendations on how to implement the collaborative-learning experience in teacher education. (Published abstract)
