This study explores the relationship between cognitive representation efficiency and problem solving skills among Qassim University Female Students and tries to estimate the differences of cognitive representation efficiency according to college type (scientific - humanitarian) and study level (first year- forth year). The research adopted the descriptive approach in order to achieve the goals of the study. Cognitive Representation efficiency scale (Al-Zayat. 2000), and Problem Solving scale (Hamdi, 1998), were administrated to a sample of 419 Female students from Al Qassim University in the Academic year 1435/1436 H- 2014/2015 A.D. Findings indicated that Qassim University Female students have a High level of cognitive representation efficiency and problem solving skills. The results also revealed that there were no significant differences in cognitive representation efficiency due to college type and study level, and positive relationship between cognitive representation efficiency and problem solving skills among Qassim University Female students. Finally, the results were discussed in the light of theoretical literature and previous studies and some recommendations were suggested. (Published abstract)
