أثر استخدام إستراتيجّية ويتلي في تنمية التفكير الرياضيّ وخفض قلق الرياضيّات لدى طلبة الصّف التّاسع الأساسّي في الأردنّ
The purpose of the study was to investigate the effect of using Wheatley strategy on developing mathematical thinking and reducing math anxiety of the ninth grade students in Jordan. To achieve this purpose a study sample of(62) students was selected from the ninth grade. This sample was divided into two groups. One group was randomly chosen to be the experimental group that consisted of (31) students and the other group was the control group that consisted of (31) students. Experimental group was taught using Wheatley strategy, while the control group was taught using the traditional method. Two instruments were used in the study ; mathematical thinking test and math anxiety questionnaire. Data analysis procedures using appropriate (t-test) for independent samples reveled that: There was a significant difference (α=0.05) between experimental group and control group means on post-test mathematical thinking and in favor of the experimental group. There was a significant difference (α=0.05) between experimental group and control group means on post-test math anxiety and in favor of the experimental group. (Author’s abstract)
