The purpose of the study is to determine the effect of online peer tutoring on academic achievement of students in a computer education course (250CI) at King Saud University, college of education. Furthermore, the study aim is to identify the perceptions of the students about the application of online peer tutoring on their educational process and development. A pretest and posttest of quasi-experimental design with a control group was used with a convenience sample of 33 students. Results from the study found that there is no difference between posttest achievement level means of the experimental group, that adopted online peer tutoring and the control group that learned with face to face. To find out whether online peer tutoring had an effective on academic achievement, Paired - Sample T-Test was applied for the experimental group (pretest & posttest). Results indicated that online peer tutoring had positive effects on academic achievement at the level of 0.01. Students who used online peer tutoring achieved their objectives in school like their colleagues who continued to practice a method of face to face (control group). Further, about ninety percent of participants agreed upon the importance of online peer tutoring. Many students stated that using online peer tutoring had enhanced their learning experience. Some appropriate recommendations and suggestions were proposed. (Published abstract)
