فاعلية الإرشاد الجمعي في تحسين مهارتي حل المشكلات وتوكيد الذات لدى المراهقين الذكور أبناء اللاجئين السوريين في محافظة إربد-الأردن
The study aimed to investigate the impact of group counseling program based on cognitive-behavioral therapy to improve problem-solving skills and assertiveness among adolescents from Syrian refugees’ families in Jordan. The sample consisted of 30 students from the Syrians students basic postgraduate (7th grade, 8th grade), were registered in a public school in Irbid Governorate, in the 2nd semester of (2014/2015) academic year, which was chosen purposely to provide the necessary conditions and facilities to implement the program accordance with the proposed method. To achieve the goals, it was adopted quasi-experimental method, where the members randomly assigned to two equal groups: The experimental group, whose members presented in a group counseling program prepared by the researcher, and a control group whose members did not undergo any training. And the data were collected through an application of two (pre-post) tests for the two groups: problem-solving test, and assertiveness test, in addition to the iterative test which was applied on the experimental group a month ago the end of the program. The results showed a significant difference between the average performance of the experimental and control groups on a test problem-solving and its dimensions, and assertiveness and its dimensions, all of which came in favor of the experimental group. The results also showed a non significant differences between the mean scores of the experimental group on problem-solving skills and assertiveness, attributed to the test (posttest, iterative test in), which refers to the effectiveness of the program in improving problem-solving skills and assertiveness, and the continuation of this improvement through follow-up period. The study recommended the development of more group counseling programs to address the psychological, personal, social and behavioral issues among adolescents of Syrian refugees which is very effective for helping adolescents who is exposed to low ability to solve problems and assertiveness such participants in this study.
