توظيف السيميائية في تدريس العلاقات التكوينية لفن الرسم
Semiotics is regarded as one of the subjects that have never been discussed and not utilized in art education. The researcher sought to take this step, i.e., utilizing semiotic analysis according to Keller’s text plan which is regarded as a unique plan that suits learning componential relations “Visual Composition” in the art of painting. It helps in encouraging the students in self-learning and generates motive and competitiveness. The aim of this study is to utilize semiotics in teaching componential relations in the art of painting in the students of the department of art education. It is achieved by preparing four educational units, then, investigating the effect of utilizing it in the cognitive and skill achievement of the students in the subject of visual composition. To achieve the aim of the study, the following hypothesis is being investigated: there is no statistically significant difference on the level 0.05 between the averages of the test group which utilizes semiotics in the achievement test (skill and achievement) and the results of the same group in the posttest. The study community was the students of the third grade, Department of Art Education, College of Fine Arts, University of Diyala for the academic year 2014-2015. The study sample consisted of 37 students, after excluding 22 students due to continuous absence during the experiment, failure in passing and leveling up to the next unit, or due to past experience as graduates of teachers training institute in art education. The final number of students reached 15. The statistical devices used in the study were: T-test for correlated mediums, Person Correlation Coefficient to find Spearman –Brown Coefficient to find the Consistency Coefficient. The results of the study have shown that the experimental sample has prevailed in the posttest after the application of the educational units and the pretest. The difference was statistically significant, so the nil-hypothesis was rejected. (Author’s abstract)
