This study aims to explore the teaching obstacles of mathematical proofs in the upper basic education stage as seen by mathematics teachers. Findings show that students are not able to justify all the procedural steps of the given proofs or even to write them. For them, it is difficult to use the mathematical language as converting the language into specific symbols or algorithm. Students do not have enough knowledge of the various notions, terms or concepts, or mathematical theories that support the proofs. Besides, they do not have interest, to some extent, in justifying finding the evidences. Moreover female teachers do have problems more than the male teachers in teaching the mathematical proofs. Also, it is found that the teachers who hold an MA do have the same problems like those who only have a BA or diploma degree. And the same teaching obstacles in mathematical proofs for the seventh grade do not much differ from those who are in the eighth, ninth and tenth grades. In view of this, it has been found that experience plays a major role in alleviating the mentioned obstacles. In the light of these findings, recommendations and suggestions have been presented.
