The purpose of this study was to detect the effectiveness of a computerized training program of teaching computer applications in the development of some computer skills among the students of Al-Azhar University – Gaza and to identify their attitudes towards it where the problem of the study was identified by the following main question: “How effective is the use a computerized training program of teaching computer applications in the development of some computer skills for the sample and their attitudes towards it?”. In this study which was carried out during the first semester of the academic year 2012/2013, the researcher followed a quasi-experimental approach, where the study sample comprising 30 students was chosen from the registered students in Faculty of Education in the course of Computer Science 1. The independent variable “computerized training program” has been subjected and its impact measured on both dependent variables “computer skills in computer Applications”, and “attitudes of students towards computer applications”. To achieve the study objectives, a list of computer skills contained in the computer applications MS Word, and MS Excel was prepared as well as a performance test of computer applications skills, in addition to the measure of the trend towards computer applications. After verifying the validity and reliability of the study tools, the pre and post tests were applied on the study group, as well as applying the measure of trend towards computer applications before and after the application of the computerized training program on the study group. The results of the pre and post application were analyzed to identify the significant differences between the average scores of students before and after application, using arithmetic means, standard deviations, correlation coefficient “T”, and “ETA” square. The following results were concluded: 1) There is a statistically significant difference at the level of significance α<0.01 between the average scores in the pre-test and the post test in favor of the post application. 2) The measure of the trend in the area of the nature of the subject and its difficulty, the value and importance of the subject, and the level of enjoy of the article, statistically significant at the level 0.01, as well as statistically significant at the level of 0.01 in the measure of the trend towards computer applications as a whole. 3) There is an effectiveness of the computerized training program in teaching computer applications to develop some computer skills in the experimental group. 4) There is an effectiveness of the training program in the trend toward computerized computer applications in the experimental group. In the light of the outcome of the study, the researcher presented some recommendations that aim to take advantage of the computerized training program to teach computer applications to develop some computer skills among the students of Al-Azhar University- Gaza and the attitude towards it.
